a few photos

A few photos of the past few months This will stick with me.. as she came riding down to me on her bike she was saying to me "mum you don't have to say anything..I know it isn't modest, I was getting dressed and I saw a spider in my room.I had to get out of there super quick and didn't have time to finish getting dressed." Then she asked me if she looked like a movie star! I asked Addison to go get dressed because we were going shopping....This was the outfit he came back with

The Hobbit

This month for our book club we are reading the Hobbit! When I was about 12 it was my favorite book ever. I would pour over the pages almost on a daily basis..I can even still remember what the book cover looked like. However..do you think I can remember a word of the story? Not a jot! It is literally like reading it for the very first time...ever! I was telling Adam about my mental blank as Ethan was listening. His very honest take on the situation was. "Mum you do know that you read that when you were 12..how on earth do you expect to remember something from two of my life times ago? You know you struggle to even remember each of your children's names now!" He sauntered off totally unaware of the emotional damage he had done to me! So tonight I am jumping into bed with a copy of the Hobbit, hoping I remember what I read when I wake up tomorrow :) I picked up from a second hand book shop, I don't like new copies of books..Adam thinks I am totally weird. I simply prefer books that have a little user history..try explaining that one to him

Television Time

I love hanging out with my children, sitting on the couch snuggled under a blanket...It is THE BEST! It is a time where I get to laugh with them, and just get to be with them without any demands on any of us! What I also love is I can catch sneaky looks at them without them knowing that I am watching them. I try to remember every single expression they have at every age so I can store it up. I love Addison's face of sheer awe as he watches Deadly Sixty ( ABC 6.30) he looks slightly terrified and bites down on his little lip as the guy is showing us some awful looking creature and telling us how poisonous they are. Ethan loves his documentary, so intense and thoughtful. Soaking all the information up, when he is really concentrating that right eyebrow of his crunkles up. Lillie is passionate about orangutangs, that is what you see when she is absorbed in Orangutang Island passion, and often a little tear will gleam in her eye as she hears the sad stories of orphaned babies. I know she is going to do amazing things! Nelson...I love hearing his laugh, his choice is usually comedies. That crooked little smile of his has always made me choke up! Even more now as he gets bigger. My baby Spencer loves Scooby Doo and it is so real to him. When he watches I can literally see his mind filling up with adventures that he is going to act out with Addy as soon as he get< home. As I look at them all I am filled with gratitude to know that we are a forever family..I am filled with such a feeling of overwhelming happiness as I remember Adam and I going to the Temple to be not only married but joined together for time and all eternity. I thought I loved him then as much as was possible to love another person however, over the years as I watch him with our children, it is more than love...he is apart of me. The children are part of us we are a Forever Family!

We Share in our Family

On Saturday night Addison was getting ready for bed and ran off to brush his teeth..something he dosen't usually do with out a bit of guidance.. He came into the living room tooth brush in mouth showing us he was doing it. The next thing I hear is Adam saying that is my toothbrush Addy.. go use your own..his response was "Daddy, we share in our family." After a little more discussion with him we found out that our toothbrushes had all been used by him..for a variety of things.. I now feel a certain amount of anxiety when I go to brush my teeth. Along with the tooth brush theme..I was doing some iorning during the day ( I do this so I feel justified in watching a TV show during the day, it is really amazing what you can find to iorn in a desperate bid to watch ..just one more episode!)Adam came home for lunch, which is rare and after being dazzled by his wife lovelingly iorning all his shirts for the next 2 weeks. He carried in Spencer asleep in his arms, with a huge stripe of toothpaste through his hair and down his face. When we asked Addy why he would do something like that his response was along the lines of " he wanted me to.. we thought it would be funny" "But Addy, he was sound asleep on the couch...." "I know that Daddy, I know what he is thinking and he really wanted me to."

Graduated to large family status

Well I think the time has come for me to accept going to the corner store to pick up a bag of grated cheese is no longer economical.. I have hit the stage where I need to buy bulk...definately 5 kilo bag of cheese. One of Nelson's friends was over the other day, he was helping make some toasted cheese sandwiches for lunch..all I heard him say at least three times "i didn't know you could buy this much cheese..." a little in awe then Nelson told him to look in the pantry where to Zac's delight he came across a 2 kilo bag of choc chips this part cracked me up He said "your mum really needs to teach my mum where to shop!!!"
It is getting ready for back to school for me so today I started doing some cooking, Spencer,Addison and Lillie always the ready helpers. As soon as they see the mixing bowl out they are up there on the bench ready to help..I think I can actually feel my self getting tense with "so much help" avaliable. After I picked out almost a full egg of shell out of the batter the kids get really excited when eggs are involved. They of course each have to do at least one..hence the shell. Addy said "that tastes really good momma" all but one of our children are batter eaters..a terrible quirk they have picked up from me. Then the fun stuff really starts when we get to roll balls for cookies..Don't worry if I ever make cookies for you...the kids definately are not involved!!! Cute chubby fingers working really hard to make the perfect ball then having the delima of exactally where to put it on the tray..if it makes it that far. After they left and I was rearranging the tray I noticed quite a few half eaten ones there, that is my kids !!!
